Aluminum tubes can be cut and sold retail. Types include 6061, 6063, 5083, coiled aluminum tubes, LY12, 7075, aluminum alloy tubes, large-diameter, small-diameter, thick-walled, and thin-walled aluminum tubes. Aluminum tubes can be broadly classified by material into pure aluminum tubes and aluminum alloy tubes. Pure aluminum tubes, due to their high purity, are mainly used in applications where strength requirements are not high, such as food packaging and pharmaceutical transportation. Aluminum alloy tubes, on the other hand, have other metallic elements (such as copper, magnesium, and zinc) added to improve their strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance, and are widely used in structural components, mechanical parts, and piping systems requiring high strength.
Furthermore, aluminum tubes can also be classified by manufacturing process into seamless aluminum tubes and welded aluminum tubes. Seamless aluminum tubes are produced by extrusion or rolling, resulting in uniform wall thickness and the ability to withstand higher pressures, making them suitable for high-pressure fluid transportation and precision equipment manufacturing. Welded aluminum tubes are produced by welding rolled plates, resulting in relatively lower costs, and are suitable for transporting general pressure and non-corrosive media.
