Hydraulic Control Manifolds
Hydraulic control manifolds combine valve interfaces, internal fluid passages, threaded ports, mounting holes, and sealing surfaces in a single CNC-machined block. Parts are produced from approved 2D drawings, 3D CAD files, samples, or defined specifications. Milling, drilling, tapping, boring, pocketing, and multi-side machining are selected according to the manifold structure.
Manifold Configurations
Valve Mounting Interfaces
Valve mounting faces, cavities, bolt patterns, locating features, and sealing areas are machined to the specified interface dimensions. Flatness and hole positions are controlled where they affect valve installation and assembly alignment.
Internal Flow Passages
Cross-drilled and intersecting passages connect the required hydraulic circuits inside the block. Passage diameter, depth, intersection position, and drilling direction are defined by the approved design.
Port and Thread Layout
Inlet, outlet, drain, gauge, and auxiliary ports can be arranged across multiple faces. Port diameter, thread size, thread depth, counterbores, and orientation are controlled from the drawing.
Technical Specifications
Final tolerance, surface roughness, material grade, and inspection requirements are established from the approved drawing.

Materials and Machining
Aluminum Alloys
6061-T6 provides a useful balance of machinability, strength, and weight for many manifold blocks. 6063 can suit applications requiring good machinability and surface finishing. 7075-T6 is available where a higher strength-to-weight ratio is required.
Steel Options
Stainless steel and carbon steel provide additional material choices for manifold designs requiring different mechanical or environmental characteristics. The material grade is confirmed before production.
Multi-Side Machining
Manifolds with ports, mounting holes, valve interfaces, and passages distributed across several faces may require 4-axis or 5-axis machining. Multi-side processing helps maintain the positional relationship between related features.
Design Requirements
Port Geometry
Port diameter, thread form, depth, location, and orientation should be specified on the drawing. These details determine compatibility with the connected hydraulic components.
Valve Interfaces
Valve cavity dimensions, mounting-hole spacing, locating features, sealing surfaces, and interface flatness require controlled machining because these features determine assembly fit.
Internal Passages
Cross-hole locations and passage intersections are reviewed before machining. The process plan considers drilling direction, tool access, plugging locations, wall thickness, and datum references.
Typical Applications
Hydraulic Power Units
Manifolds connect valves, pumps, actuators, gauges, and auxiliary circuits within a compact hydraulic control assembly.
Industrial Machinery
Custom manifold blocks suit hydraulic assemblies requiring defined valve positions, fixed port layouts, mounting patterns, and repeatable interfaces.
Mobile and Special Equipment
Manifold geometry can be arranged around available installation space, mounting points, port orientation, and the required hydraulic circuit layout.
Quality Control
Drawing-Based Inspection
Inspection follows the approved drawing and covers material, dimensions, tolerances, thread specifications, surface treatment, and assembly-related features.
First Article Inspection
FAI can be completed for new manifold projects before batch production. Inspection can include critical dimensions, mounting interfaces, material, surface treatment, and other specified characteristics.
Process Control
Critical dimensions can be monitored during production using defined inspection procedures. SPC can be applied to repeat-production projects where dimensional stability is a key requirement. ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures support documented requirement confirmation, inspection records, and controlled production processes.
Custom Production Support
From Drawing to Production
Engineering review covers the drawing or CAD model, material grade, tolerances, wall sections, machining access, port layout, valve interfaces, and surface treatment before production.
Prototype and Batch Orders
Prototype and repeat orders can follow the same approved drawing revision, material specification, process requirements, and inspection criteria. This establishes a consistent production basis across project stages.
Surface Treatment
Anodizing, hard anodizing, powder coating, and other specified finishes can be applied according to material and application requirements. Finish specifications are confirmed before processing.
FAQ
Q: What information is required for a quotation?
A: A 2D drawing or 3D CAD file, material grade, quantity, thread specifications, surface treatment, and inspection requirements provide the main information needed for quotation review.
Q: Can complex internal passages be machined?
A: Yes. Cross-drilled and intersecting passages can be machined when the passage geometry, access direction, hole locations, and related dimensions are defined in the design.
Q: Which aluminum grades are available?
A: 6061-T6, 6063, and 7075-T6 are available for aluminum manifold projects. Other specified metals can also be reviewed according to the part requirements.
Q: How are valve interfaces inspected?
A: Valve faces, cavity dimensions, mounting-hole patterns, locating features, sealing surfaces, and critical positional dimensions are checked against the approved drawing.
Q: Is first article inspection available?
A: Yes. FAI can be arranged for new projects, with the inspection scope based on critical dimensions and the agreed technical requirements.
